Garlic Basil Toast
From knwalter 16 years agoIngredients
- toast (4 pieces, your favorite or whatever's on hand) shopping list
- 2-3 Tbs. melted butter shopping list
- 4 dashes seasoned salt shopping list
- 4 dashes cayenne pepper shopping list
- parmesan cheese (enough to sprinkle on each slice, about 1/2 cup or so) shopping list
- fresh ground black pepper (a few grinds on each slice) shopping list
- 1-2 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled shopping list
- fresh or dried basil (about 4 good shakes or 3-4 sprigs, depending on taste) shopping list
How to make it
- On the lightest setting for your toaster, toast 4 slices of your favorite bread. If using thick cut bread, run under the broiler for about 30 seconds (or long enough just to firm it up some).
- When toast is done, take the garlic cloves and rub all over each piece, don't be stingy!!
- Brush each piece of toast with the butter
- Sprinkle each with the cayenne, seasoned salt, basil and parmesan cheese.
- Run back under broiler long enough to brown up toast and set the cheese (about 1 minute or so).
- Crack fresh ground black pepper over each piece.
- Enjoy!!!
