How to make it

  • Line bottom and side of an 8" or 9" cake pan with aluminum foil (do not use plastic wrap or wax paper).
  • Butter foil heavily and set pan aside.
  • Combine almonds, butter, sugar and corn syrup in a 10" skillet.
  • Bring to a boild over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Continue to boil & stir constantly, until mixture turns golden brown (about 5-6 minutes).
  • Working quickly, pour and spread candy evenly in prepared pan.
  • Cool about 15 minutes, or until firm.
  • Remove candy from pany by lifting edges of foil, peeling off foil. Cool thoroughly.
  • If giving as a gift, it can be presented as a full disk or broken into pieces.
  • Makes about 3/4 pound.
