How to make it

  • **First make sugar syrup:
  • In pot, add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water, stir over heat till sugar has been dissolved. Then bring to a boil, do not stir while boiling, and let boil for 5 minutes. You can then, let cool, put into a jar and keep in fridge until ready to use. This is great when making sweet tea, or other cocktails needing sugar syrup.
  • **Put rhubarb into pot and 3 cups water and spices into pot, and let simmer until rhubarb is tender - maybe 15 minutes. Then strain, reserving all the liquids.
  • To liquid, add cooler sugar syrup and fruit juices. Let chill in fridge.
  • When ready to serve it up, put ice into glasses, add desired vodka amount, then add chilled spiced rhubarb mix and top of with ginger ale. Add fresh slice of orange, and voila - something very different and delicious.
