Ingredients
  • 100 g Vermicelli
  • 150 g milk
  • 1 tsp ghee or butter
  • 11/2 c sugar
  • cardamon powder 1/2 tsp
  • casewnuts &raisins

Directions
  1. Heat Ghee or butter in a pan
  2. Add Vermicelli and fry well
  3. Remove from fire and keep aside
  4. Boil the milk and simmer till it reduce to half
  5. Now add the roasted Vermicelli and cook for a while
  6. Add Sugar,cardamon &cook for 2-5min
  7. Then add dry frits,cool &serve

Interesting; I have made Kheer with rice; will have to try this version.


It look delicious Angie! Way to go! But do you mean there isn't anyone in India who hasn't tasted it, or that by changing it from rice to vermicelli you have developed something nobody has tasted?

Hmmm I tot Kheer means rice pudding and the similar dessert is called firni/phimi.
Love ur version thou . Gets my 5 .
But not sure wat it is close to .. Vermicelli Kesari or Payasam ????
