Shepherds Pie Poor Mans Pie Recipe

Ingredients

How to make it

  • Boil potatoes, mash and season to taste with milk and butter.
  • Brown ground beef and onion with salt and pepper.
  • When cooked, drain fat
  • Add peas, corn, and carrots, Let simmer until heated through
  • In 13x9 pan place meat and vegetable mixture in bottom of pan. Cover with mashed potatoes and sprinkle cheese on top.
  • Place in oven on BROIL until cheese is melted
  • ***********************************************************************************
  • Also if your in a hurry you can use Instant potatoes!

    Love shepherd's pie - I haven't had this since I was in my early 20's. Um, yeah, the shepherd's pie I ordered from the Cheesecake Factory don't count - not true shepherd's pie.

    Thanks for the recipe - brings back memories...
