Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Grease cookie tray or line with parchment paper.
  • Roll out puff pastry 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured board.
  • Cut into 4 equal rectangles or cut into 4 fish shapes.
  • Make a 4 small rectangle swith raised edges (see photo).
  • Place rectangles or 2 fish shapes on baking tray and bake for 5 minutes until pastry begins to become firm.
  • Remove from oven and layer with salmon.
  • Mix dill and sour cream, then spread over salmon.
  • If you are using fish shapes, place the 2 remaining fish shapes on top of the salmon and sour cream.
  • Brush pastry with beaten egg and water mixture.
  • Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
  • Serve topped with a sprig or two of fresh dill.
  • If you are not artistic with puff pastry you can roll out the puff pastry into 4 squares and make a simple salmon wrap to bake. Be sure to seal the edges and brush with egg mixture.
