Zesty Cherry Peach Bbq Sauce

- 2 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 2 cups Finely Chopped onions shopping list
- 1 tablespoon Minced garlic shopping list
- 2 tablespoons Ancho Chile Powder shopping list
- 1 3/4 cups red wine vinegar shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 (15 oz.) can peaches drained, reserve 1/4 cup syrup shopping list
- 2 cups dried bing cherries shopping list
- 1/4 cup lime juice shopping list
How to make it
- Heat the olive oil in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Add the onions and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and chile powder and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the vinegar, sugar, peaches, reserved peach syrup and cherries.
- Increase heat and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
- Reduce to a simmer and continue cooking until reduced by half. (this can take a while but worth the wait)
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Puree the cooled sauce in a blender or food processor.
- Stir in the lime juice.
