Zesty Cherry Peach Bbq Sauce Recipe

Zesty Cherry Peach Bbq Sauce Recipe
This is a BBQ sauce to die for! It's best on pork ribs but we've used it on chicken and it's good too!

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 cups Finely Chopped Onions
  • 1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Ancho Chile Powder
  • 1 3/4 cups Red Wine Vinegar
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 (15 oz.) can Peaches drained, reserve 1/4 cup syrup
  • 2 cups dried bing cherries
  • 1/4 cup Lime Juice

Directions
  1. Heat the olive oil in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the onions and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic and chile powder and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the vinegar, sugar, peaches, reserved peach syrup and cherries.
  5. Increase heat and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  6. Reduce to a simmer and continue cooking until reduced by half. (this can take a while but worth the wait)
  7. Remove from heat and let cool.
  8. Puree the cooled sauce in a blender or food processor.
  9. Stir in the lime juice.
