Bread pudding is a dessert popular in British cuisine , Cuisine of Puerto Rico, Mexico Cuisine, Southern United States Belgian and French cuisine and should not be confused with bread and butter pudding .

Ingredients
  • 20 g butter
  • 2 apples , peeled , cored and sliced into rings or dried apricots / cherries
  • 75 g sugar
  • 3 1/2 oz bread , siced and crusts removed
  • 250 ml cream , 2 eggs beaten - mixed
  • Rind from 1 orange, cut into thin strips

Directions
  1. Grease a 1 lr ovenproof dish .
  2. Arrange the fruit slices in the base .
  3. Sprinkle half the sugar .
  4. Add the bread slices , flattening them abit .
  5. Add the cream egg mixture with remaining sugar and pour over the bread with the orange rind .
  6. Let it stand for 30 mins .
  7. Pre heat oven at 180 deg .
  8. Bake for 30 mins and serve warm .
  9. In Malaysia, bread pudding is consumed with custard sauce but it may be served with a sweet sauce of some sort, such as whiskey sauce, rum sauce, or caramel sauce, but is typically sprinkled with sugar and eaten cold in squares or slices.
