How to make it

  • In a large bowl mix sugar and butter
  • Mix with a mixer until fluffy
  • Add the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, lemon extract, mix until smooth
  • In a medium bowl combine flours, baking powder and salt
  • Stir with a spoon
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet in batches, stirring well to combine
  • Use a soup spoon
  • Drop spoonfulls of dough onto buttered cookie sheets
  • 2 inches apart on baking sheets
  • Bake until edges begin to brown, about 20 or 30 minutes
  • Allow to cool completely
  • Frosting:
  • Place confectioners sugar in large mixing bowl
  • Gradually add the boiling water to the sugar
  • Stirring constantly until mixture is thick and spreadable
  • Remove half of the frosting to the top half of a double broiler
  • set over simmering water and add chocolate to frosting
  • Warm the mixture and stir until frosting is smooth
  • Remove from heat
  • Use a butter knife coat half of each cookie with the chocolate frosting
  • Then coat the other half of the cookie with the white frosting
  • Serve and enjoy!
