Black and white cookies

- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/2 pound unsalted butter, softened shopping list
- 4 large eggs shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. lemon extract shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 4 cups confectioners sugar shopping list
- 1/3 to a 1/2 cup boiling water shopping list
- 1 oz. bitterswett chocolate shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl mix sugar and butter
- Mix with a mixer until fluffy
- Add the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, lemon extract, mix until smooth
- In a medium bowl combine flours, baking powder and salt
- Stir with a spoon
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet in batches, stirring well to combine
- Use a soup spoon
- Drop spoonfulls of dough onto buttered cookie sheets
- 2 inches apart on baking sheets
- Bake until edges begin to brown, about 20 or 30 minutes
- Allow to cool completely
- Frosting:
- Place confectioners sugar in large mixing bowl
- Gradually add the boiling water to the sugar
- Stirring constantly until mixture is thick and spreadable
- Remove half of the frosting to the top half of a double broiler
- set over simmering water and add chocolate to frosting
- Warm the mixture and stir until frosting is smooth
- Remove from heat
- Use a butter knife coat half of each cookie with the chocolate frosting
- Then coat the other half of the cookie with the white frosting
- Serve and enjoy!
