Black And White Cookies Recipe
These are a great, moist, cake like cookie with a unique taste. It may sound difficult but trust me it's easy.

Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 pound unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon extract
  • 2 1/2 cups cake flour
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Frosting:
  • 4 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1/3 to a 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 oz. bitterswett chocolate

Directions
  1. In a large bowl mix sugar and butter
  2. Mix with a mixer until fluffy
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, lemon extract, mix until smooth
  4. In a medium bowl combine flours, baking powder and salt
  5. Stir with a spoon
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet in batches, stirring well to combine
  7. Use a soup spoon
  8. Drop spoonfulls of dough onto buttered cookie sheets
  9. 2 inches apart on baking sheets
  10. Bake until edges begin to brown, about 20 or 30 minutes
  11. Allow to cool completely
  12. Frosting:
  13. Place confectioners sugar in large mixing bowl
  14. Gradually add the boiling water to the sugar
  15. Stirring constantly until mixture is thick and spreadable
  16. Remove half of the frosting to the top half of a double broiler
  17. set over simmering water and add chocolate to frosting
  18. Warm the mixture and stir until frosting is smooth
  19. Remove from heat
  20. Use a butter knife coat half of each cookie with the chocolate frosting
  21. Then coat the other half of the cookie with the white frosting
  22. Serve and enjoy!
