Ingredients
  • 400g Butter
  • 100g All purpose flour
  • 5g Baking powder
  • 400g Sugar
  • 20g Cardamom powder/ any essence (for aroma)
  • 10ml Milk

Directions
  1. Mix butter, flour and baking powder with the milk and make a fine paste. Don't make it too watery or too thick.
  2. Make balls out of the paste. Fry in oil till brown.
  3. Remove oil using absorbent paper.
  4. Make sugar syrup by boiling water and sugar. Add cardamom powder (or any essence) while preparing syrup.
  5. Add the balls to the syrup.

I love gulab jamon, my sister once tried a recipe from youtube. the result lookes really really amazing. but it was very hard from inside unlike the ones we buy from indian restaurants! any tips?

Alterations


Hi one small suggestion..
for preparing Gulab jamoon, the ingredient that makes it soft is "Sweetless Khoya"( which can be prepared at home by boiling milk(1/2 ltr )and adding a T-spoon of citric(lemon juice) and draining the water from the milk) this can be used to make gulab jamoon, u can use this khoya, little of all purpose flour and make them into balls and fry in oil and then add to the sugar syrup.
note:flour is added for gettin the batter to consistency of making it to balls
