How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 450 F.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Add cheese.
  • Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in milk just until moistened.
  • Turn onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Pat or roll into a 3/4 inch-thick square.
  • Cut into 12 squares.
  • Place 1/8 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 450 F. for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Combine butter, dill, and garlic powder; brush over hot biscuits.
  • Serve warm.
  • Refrigerate leftovers.
