Tofu Teriyaki

- 1 pkg firm tofu shopping list
- cornstarch shopping list
- 3/4 cup soy sauce shopping list
- 3/4 cup water shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, cut in slices shopping list
- 4 slices fresh ginger shopping list
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar shopping list
- oil shopping list
How to make it
- Drain water from the tofu. Roll in tea towel and press out the water. Cut into 8 even slices and let sit.
- Make marinade by mixing the soy sauce, water, garlic, ginger, and brown in a blender for a few minutes.
- Pour oil in a skillet to cover bottom. Heat.
- Meanwhile roll each slice of tofu in cornstarch.
- Place tofu slices in oil and fry. Fry both sides till very brown.
- Pour off excess oil. Pour in marinade and allow to bubble (the chemical rxn.)
- Move each piece of tofu around in pan and then over.
- Cook till each piece is covered and a nice gooey outer layer developes.
- This is great served with my Coconut Thai Rice recipe.
