Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven at 150 deg .
  • Grease a 20 cm cake pan .
  • In a double boiler , beat the eggs until light and foamy .
  • remove from heta .
  • Use a wooden spoon tp mix the nuts and chocolate into it .
  • Fold in the cream .
  • Pour in the cake pan and let it stand inside a shallow baking dish filled with hot water halfway .
  • Bake for an hour or so , until set .
  • Cool and chill overnight , wrapped .
  • Next day invert the cake on a 18 cm cake board , remove the baking paper and allow the cake tp return to room temperature .
  • For Topping :
  • Microwave the cream , dark baking chocolate ,until smooth .
  • Dip the nuts abit in chocolate mix and stick to the edge of the cake .
  • Now pour rest of the chocolate mix in the middle of the cake and tilt it abit in circle , making sure the cake is fully covered .
  • Even and smoothen the sides of the cake too .
  • Chill the cake until set and transfer it to the serving plate .
  • Slice it thinly serve along with a scoop of vanilla icecream and some fresh fruit wedges

    Perfect timing! I just started looking for chocolate torte recipes. My intention is to convert them into giant muffins. I think this recipe fits the bill! I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to layer them, or if I'm even going to, but, will see...
