I think this recipe has improved from the original one I had posted. Without a doubt the fudge sauce is way richer!

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp cocoa
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • ice cream, any flavor
  • Fudge Sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup cream (I use table cream)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350 F. Grease 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Combine sugar, butter and water in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, just until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Immediately add chocolate chips; stir until melted. Add eggs; beat with spoon until well blended.
  3. Stir together flour, baking soda, cocoa and salt. Add to chocolate mixture; stir until well blended. Stir in vanilla, pour into prepared pie plate.
  4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until almost set. (Pie will not test done in center.) Cool.
  5. To prepare fudge sauce:
  6. Combine all ingredients in medium microwave safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH for 1 minute; stir. If necessary microwave at HIGH an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, just until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Cool slightly
  7. Top each slice of brownie pie with ice cream and sauce. Yummy.

I agree with zena824 that chocolate always rates right up there. The fudge sauce and ice cream are ooooh something to die for.
