How to make it

  • Chop onions and garlic finely.
  • In a pan, add tomatoes and pour water till all the tomatoes sink. Boil them for 7 minutes. Peel and grind the tomatoes. Filter the juice.
  • Fry the cilantro seeds, fennel seeds and dried red chillies without oil. Powder them, after frying. (powder 1)
  • Fry the poppy seeds in a pan without oil.
  • Add grated coconut & roasted gram to powder 1. Grind to a fine paste. (powder 2)
  • Fry mustard seeds in oil. Add chopped onions and garlic. Fry till the onions are cooked and the fresh smell of garlic disappears.
  • Add chopped cilantro leaves and turmeric powder. Fry for 30 secs more.
  • Add powder 2, salt, sugar and tomato extract.
  • Allow it to boil till the curry thickens.
