Milan Cookies

- 12 Tablespoons butter softened shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 6 egg whites shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons lemon extract shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- cookie filling: shopping list
- 1/2 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 8 ounces semisweet or milk chocolate pieces shopping list
How to make it
- Cream the butter
- Mix in sugar
- Add egg whites gradually
- Then mix in the vanilla and lemon extracts
- Add the flour and mix until incorporated
- Pour batter into a large plastic bag seal and cut the tip off
- Make 1 inch sections of batter on parchment lined baking pans
- Make sure they are at least 2 inches apart
- Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes
- Just until the edges are turning a golden brown'
- Let them cool on the pan
- Cookie filling
- In a small saucepan scald the cream
- Pour hot cream over the chocolate in the bowl
- Whisk to melt, set to cool, it will thicken
- Spread a thin amount of filling on the flat side of the cookie
- While the filling is still soft, press the flat side of second cookie to it
- Repeat with the remainder of the cookies
