How to make it

  • In a heavy saucepan over medium low heat,melt chocolate chips and butter. Stir until smooth.
  • Cool 5 minutes.
  • Dissolve coffee in hot water. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl,beat eggs and brown sugar on medium speed for 1 minute.
  • Stir in melted chocolate and coffee.
  • Combine flour and baking powder and gradually add to chocolate mixture.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9" x 13" baking pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Cool completely on wire rack.
  • Filling:
  • Dissolve coffee in water. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl,beat cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add melted chocolate,coffee,and confectioner's sugar. Continue beating until combined.
  • Spread over brownies.
  • Glaze:
  • Melt chocolate chips in shortening. Stir until smooth.
  • Drizzle over filling.
  • Chill at least 2 hours before cutting. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
