Mocha Truffle Brownies

- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 stick butter shopping list
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee shopping list
- 2 tablespoons hot water shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee shopping list
- 1 tablespoon hot water shopping list
- 1 8oz package cream cheese-softened shopping list
- 1/3 cup confectioner's sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips-melted shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 teaspoon shortening shopping list
How to make it
- In a heavy saucepan over medium low heat,melt chocolate chips and butter. Stir until smooth.
- Cool 5 minutes.
- Dissolve coffee in hot water. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl,beat eggs and brown sugar on medium speed for 1 minute.
- Stir in melted chocolate and coffee.
- Combine flour and baking powder and gradually add to chocolate mixture.
- Pour batter into a greased 9" x 13" baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely on wire rack.
- Filling:
- Dissolve coffee in water. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl,beat cream cheese until smooth.
- Add melted chocolate,coffee,and confectioner's sugar. Continue beating until combined.
- Spread over brownies.
- Glaze:
- Melt chocolate chips in shortening. Stir until smooth.
- Drizzle over filling.
- Chill at least 2 hours before cutting. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
