How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 425 then spray deep dish pie plate with cooking spray.
  • In large bowl combine sugars, flour, zest, cinnamon and nutmeg then mix well.
  • Peel core and thinly slice apples then add to sugar mixture stirring until well coated.
  • Stir in raisins then spoon into prepared plate.
  • Place piecrust on top of filling and trim edges pressing against edge of pan.
  • Using a sharp knife cut steam vents in piecrust.
  • To glaze lightly brush pie crust with beaten egg then sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake until pie crust is golden brown about 40 minutes.
  • Place on wire rack and cool 30 minutes then serve warm.
