Onions can't really get any sweeter or better than this. Served over seared albacore tuna makes this just puuuurfect

Ingredients
  • 4 oz. butter
  • 12 oz. maui onions, sliced thinly lengthwise
  • Kosher salt, as needed
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

Directions
  1. Melt butter in a 1 quart sauce pan.
  2. Add onions and sweat over low heat
  3. season the onions with kosher salt and add the sugar
  4. Cover with a lid and sweat over low heat until extremely tender
  5. perfect - o

I'm not familiar with Maui onions, but after looking them up, I'm assuming I could use another kind of sweet onion. I love sweet onions and I'm sure this is absolutely delicious!
