Asian Almonds

- 3 tablespoons peanut oil, or canola shopping list
- 2 cups whole almonds shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 tablespoon sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in a heavy skillet (cast iron) over medium-high heat. Add the almonds and sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Saute until the almonds become golden brown and the sugar caramelizes, stirring constantly.
- Remove almonds from the pan and toss in a bowl with the salt, cumin, cayenne and remaining sugar. Immediately spread over foil to cool. Break nuts apart using two forks. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

This is a really unique recipe. I haven't seen a sugared nut recipe with cumin and sugar in it. I can't even imagine how these are going to taste but know this, I'm going to make them and find out! I love recipes for nuts like this one and I'm so gla...more
