How to make it

  • in a 3 quart pot add water,sugar and cinnamon sticks bring to a boil and let simmer for about half an hour
  • While this mixture is simmering in a frying pan melt your butter and then add the pine nuts and farina stirring frequently untill the farina
  • becomes light brown in color
  • Once the farina is done remove cinnamon sticks from what is now syrup
  • Slowly and carefully add all the syrup into the frying pan with the farina
  • Now watch out because it does splatter very badly but its worth it
  • Now that you have added the syrup to the farina lower flame so it just simmers cover pan for about five minutes
  • Then stir your mixture it should absorb all the syrup
  • If it has not yet ,continue cooking uncovered and stirring constantly untill all liqiud is absorbed
  • Serve warm and sprinkle with ground cinnamon
