Baked Pear Custard With Caramel Sauce Recipe
Another fabulous recipe from an estate sale that I purchased in 1984. This one I make every year when I can get my hands on some good fresh pears. We all love it and hope you do as well.

Ingredients
  • 4 ripe pears peeled quartered and cored
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups light cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Sauce:
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup light cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 375 then grease shallow casserole dish.
  2. Arrange pears in prepared casserole.
  3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup then level off.
  4. In large bowl combine flour and 3/4 cup sugar then add eggs and beat well.
  5. Gradually add 2 cups cream then pour over pears and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar.
  6. Bake at 375 for 50 minutes.
  7. In medium saucepan combine all sauce ingredients except vanilla.
  8. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils stirring constantly then stir in vanilla.
  9. Serve caramel sauce over warm pear custard.
