- Sauce: shopping list
- ½ LB. ground beef shopping list
- ¾ - 1 cup chopped onion shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 3 cups chopped tomatoes (can use canned) shopping list
- 2 cups tomato paste shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- dash of pepper shopping list
- 2 TBSP fresh, chopped parsley or 1 TBSP dried flakes shopping list
- ½ -1 tsp. basil shopping list
- ½ -1 tsp. oregano shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 2 cups ricotta cheese, mashed small curd whole milk cottage cheese shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 4 TBSP fresh parsley or 2 TBSP dried flakes shopping list
- 8 oz. Lasagne noodles, cooked shopping list
- 1 LB. Shredded mozzarella cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Brown meat and onion. Add remaining sauce ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes until thick.
- Combine ricotta with eggs, Parmesan and 2TBSP dried parsley. Refrigerate for ½ hour or more while sauce simmers.
- Coat bottom of greased 9X13 pan or two bread pans with meat mixture. Layer half the noodles, half the mozzarella, half the ricotta and half the sauce. Repeat. Sprinkle the top with 1 – 2 TBSP Parmesan cheese before baking, if you wish. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes. Let stand out of oven for 10 –15 minutes before cutting.
