How to make it

  • Sprinkle the rhubarb with the white sugar.
  • Cream the butter with the brown sugar and beat in the eggs until mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Mix the flour with the baking soda and powder.
  • Add flour and milk alternately to the egg mixture.
  • Stir in the vanilla, nuts, and rhubarb and pour into 2 buttered 9-by-5-by -3-inch loaf pans.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Turn out on a rack to cool.
  • Makes 2 standard loaves.
