Italian Hot Chocolate Recipe
ITALIAN HOT CHOCOLATE This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Corrigan Estate in Justin, Texas in 1992.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch or arrowroot
  • 1 cup water, divided use
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon Kahlua
  • Ground nutmeg
  • Whipped cream

Directions
  1. Stir together in medium heavy saucepan unsweetened cocoa, sugar and cornstarch.
  2. Stir in 1/2 cup water thoroughly and set over low heat then stir in 1/2 cup water and milk.
  3. Cook stirring over medium until mixture is thickened and coats a spoon about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in vanilla and kahlua then top each serving with ground nutmeg and whipped cream.
