How to make it

  • Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper then arrange in shallow baking pan.
  • Bake at 450 for 25 minutes until well browned then pour off fat. And transfer to large saucepan.
  • Add water, carrots, turnip, onion, chili powder, salt, garlic, cumin, anise seed and pepper.
  • Bring to boil then reduce heat and cover then simmer 2 hours until meat is very tender.
  • Skim fat then stir in cabbage and cook 10 minutes longer.
