How to make it

  • Fry bacon in a large pot until crisp, drain all but 1 tablespoon of drippings.
  • Saute onion and garlic in reserved bacon drippings until soft.
  • Add all the rest of the ingredients and slowly simmer for about 30 minutes, until thick.

    WW, I've been doing the same thing for years - only I've never added the beer. ? Sounds different. I cheat though on the bacon and add Hormel already cooked bacon, chopped in a resealable bag.
