Rib-Eye Steaks With Smoky Tomato Salsa Recipe

Ingredients
  • SALSA:
  • 2 tomatillos, husks removed, diced
  • 1/2 cup of any Thick and Chunky Salsa
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped red or yellow bell pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh chives
  • 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. liquid smoke
  • STEAKS:
  • 4 (3/4"-thick) boneless rib-eye steaks
  • 1 tsp. dried southwestern style seasoning blend or coarsely ground Santa Fe style seasoning blend

Directions
  1. Heat grill.
  2. In a small bowl, combine all salsa ingredients; mix well.
  3. When ready to grill, sprinkle steaks on both sides with seasoning blend.
  4. Place steaks on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals.
  5. Cook 8-12 minutes or until of desired doneness, turning once or twice.
  6. Serve salsa with steaks.
  7. NOTE:Small green tomatoes can be used oin place of the tomatillos.
