How to make it

  • In large skillet , brown brisket in hot olive oil over high heat 5 minutes on each side
  • Place in a lightly greased 9 X 13 inch pan
  • In a bowl, stir together vinegar and the next 6 ingredients
  • Pour this mixture over brisket
  • Add 1 cup of water to the pan
  • Cover with foil, bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours, basting every hour
  • Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees, bake for 1 more hour
  • Skim the fat from drippings and discard
  • Serve the drippings with the brisket
