North African Breakfast Couscous

- 2-1/4 cups water shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice shopping list
- 1 tablespoon butter shopping list
- 10 ounces quick cooking couscous shopping list
- 1/4 cup currants or golden raisins shopping list
- 2 tablespoons grated orange rind shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 navel oranges sectioned and chopped shopping list
- 10 pitted dates chopped shopping list
- orange sections for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Bring water and sugar to a boil in saucepan stirring constantly.
- Boil gently 10 minutes or until slightly thickened then stir in orange juice.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter.
- Combine couscous and next 4 ingredients in large bowl then stir in hot sugar syrup.
- Let stand 20 minutes stirring occasionally then stir in chopped orange and dates.
- Serve warm or cold garnished with orange sections.
