Sherried Walnuts

These candied nuts are my faves and look great in a clear glass covered candy dish at Christmas time! I purchased Xmas tree clear glass candy dishes at the dime store, filled them with these nuts, tied a festive ribbon and tag on them and gave them to friends and neighbors at Xmas. Read more ... I did this for many years...try them...they're so easy to make! I'm guessing on prep and cook time. I buy a large bag of walnut halves at Costco for this recipe. See less
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup dry sherry shopping list
- 2 to 3 cups walnuts shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Boil sugar and sherry to 240 degrees.
- Remove from heat.
- Add cinnamon and walnuts.
- Stir until cloudy
- Spread out and cool on cookie sheet.
