Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen raspberries

Directions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in eggs and extract.
  4. Press two-thirds of the mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish.
  5. In a large bowl, combine cornstarch and remaining sugar; add berries and gently toss.
  6. Spoon over crust.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
  8. Bake at 375° for 35-45 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack.
  10. Cut into bars.
  11. Store in the refrigerator.
  12. Note: If using frozen raspberries, do not thaw before tossing with cornstarch mixture.
