Turkey roasted in the oven tastes great... but a whole turkey done in the BBQ tastes superb! My family and friends have always commented how good it tastes :o)

Ingredients
  • 1 ten to 15 lb whole turkey, fresh or well thawed.
  • lemon
  • salt
  • pepper
  • water

Directions
  1. wash the turkey and place into a cooking pan. (I use disposable pans for this)
  2. Shake on some sea salt and pepper.
  3. Pour the juice of i whole lemon over the bird.
  4. Place into the barbecue at approx 350*F. I set my two side burners on medium low, and the middle burner on low.
  5. Close the BBQ lid, and check periodically to baste..
  6. About halfway through cooking, add three cups of water to the pan. Close the lid again, and let the steam do the rest!
  7. NOTE:
  8. The turkey will brown fairly quickly, so don't be misled into thinking it is done prematurely!
  9. When you remove the turkey from the pan, tent it with tinfoil for 15 minutes.
  10. With the remaining liquid in the pan, make your gravy.
