Ragout Montparnasse

- 3 slices bacon cut in 1 inch strips shopping list
- 2 lb round steak cut in 1/2 inch strips, then 1 inch pieces shopping list
- 2 onions peeled and thinly sliced shopping list
- 5 carrots peeled and thinly sliced shopping list
- 4 large potatoes peeled and thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 t salt shopping list
- 1/4 t pepper shopping list
- 2 T water shopping list
How to make it
- Line bottom of skillet with bacon strips.( I use an electric skillet)
- Put steak on top of bacon,
- Add salt and pepper.
- Add layer of onions, then carrots, then potatoes.
- Sprinkle with water.
- Cover and cook on High until steam rises--this only takes about 5 minutes.
- Keeping covered, turn heat on Low (I use 325 on electric skillet) and cook 45 minutes.
