Chocolate-Almond Scones

- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 5 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 2 Tbl. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 stick (1/4 pound) cold unsalted butter shopping list
- 4 eggs beaten shopping list
- 3/4 cups cream shopping list
- 2 tsp. almond extract shopping list
- 1 cup chocolate chips shopping list
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in mixing bowl.
- Cut in butter until it resembles coarse meal.
- Add 3 eggs (retain last egg for wash), almond extract and cream.
- Stir to form soft dough (do not overwork dough).
- Mix in the chocolate chips and almonds.
- Turn dough out and pat until 3/4" thick.
- Cut scones and place on baking pan coated with cooking spray.
- Brush with the reserved egg.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Serve warm...Enjoy!
