Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Pure Canola Oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 3 cups chopped ripe tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 pound uncooked pasta
  • Grated Romano cheese

Directions
  1. 1.WHISK together oil, vinegar, sugar and oregano. Add garlic, onions, tomatoes and basil. Gently stir to mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Let stand at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours.
  2. 2.COOK pasta. Drain. Place cooked pasta in large bowl. Add sauce and mix well. Serve with grated Romano cheese.
