Slow Cooked Salmon Recipe

Slow Cooked Salmon Recipe
A very simple, yet flavorful salmon preparation. It's very forgiving in the baking time, so you have a big window to prepare side dishes. That makes this a really good entree for company.

Ingredients
  • 4 six to eight ounce salmon steaks
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 4 to 6 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • oil for lined baking sheet

Directions
  1. Place soy sauce in a small pot and simmer until it reduces to about half. it will be thicker and almost like syrup.
  2. Lightly oil a baking sheet lined with foil. Place the salmon steaks on the baking sheet. brush with the soy reduction. top each salmon steak with grated ginger. You may think you're putting too must soy sauce and ginger on the salmon, but you aren't.
  3. Bake at 140 degrees for about an hour or more.
  4. NOTE: You can increase the temperature if you want to, but i wouldn't raise it beyond 200. It will bake must faster, but the salmon is quite wonderful when baked slowly. In any case, check with an instant read thermometer until the internal temperature is at least 130.
