Smooth and Creamy Chocolate Buttercream

Chocolaty goodness for frosting you favorite cake, cupcakes, brownies, etc! Makes enough to frost a triple layer cake.
Ingredients
- 4 sticks butter, softened shopping list
- 1/2 c. shortening shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 lb (plus) confectioners sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all ingredients, except chocolate, in stand mixer at medium speed (start slow so sugar doesn't fly every where!)
- Melt chocolate in double boiler (or in microwave)
- Add to mixer and combine.
- Add additional confectioners sugar, if needed, to reach desired consistency.
