BIG BOY STRAWBERRY PIE

Love a good Big Boy Strawberry Pie, hope you like this one.
Ingredients
- 1 quart strawberries -- Stemmed and washed, (1 3/4 cups) shopping list
- Strawberry Topping: shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon red food coloring shopping list
- Crust: shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup margarine shopping list
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Mix together the water, white sugar, salt, cornstarch and food coloring and cook in a saucepan for about 5 minutes or until thickened. Set aside to cool.
- Make the crust by combining flour, margarine, sugar and vanilla - press this into a 9 inch pie pan. Prick all over and bake at 350
- degrees F (175 degrees C) until lightly browned.
- When crust is cool, place berries in the shell and pour the thickened mixture over the top. Refrigerate. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or whipped dessert topping.
