How to make it

  • Remove casings from sausage. In non stick pan, cook sausage until no longer pink about 5 minutes. Drain fat; add garlic, onions, mushrooms, basil oregano and salt and pepper to taste; cook for 5 mins. Stir in tomato sauce and green pepper; simmer for 5mins. Let cool.
  • On floured surface, roll out dough into 4 8"(20cm) rounds. Spoon about 3/4c filling over half of each; sprinkle with cheese. Fold dough over, gently pulling to cover filling; pinch to seal.
  • Place on greased baking sheet; cut slits on top. Dust with flour. Bake in a 425F (220C) oven until golden, about 20 minutes.
