Sausage Mushroom Calzones

- 3 Italian sausages shopping list
- 1 onion, chopped shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 11/2c sliced mushrooms shopping list
- 1/2tsp oregano shopping list
- 1/2tsp basil shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
- 11/2c tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/2c diced sweet green pepper shopping list
- 1lb pizza dough shopping list
- 11/2c shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Remove casings from sausage. In non stick pan, cook sausage until no longer pink about 5 minutes. Drain fat; add garlic, onions, mushrooms, basil oregano and salt and pepper to taste; cook for 5 mins. Stir in tomato sauce and green pepper; simmer for 5mins. Let cool.
- On floured surface, roll out dough into 4 8"(20cm) rounds. Spoon about 3/4c filling over half of each; sprinkle with cheese. Fold dough over, gently pulling to cover filling; pinch to seal.
- Place on greased baking sheet; cut slits on top. Dust with flour. Bake in a 425F (220C) oven until golden, about 20 minutes.
