Butter Rum Cinnamon Cookies

- 1 cup unsalted butter softened shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 1/4 cup almonds, finely ground shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 2 1/2 teasp. cinnamon shopping list
- zest of one orange shopping list
- 1/4 cup dark rum or orange juice shopping list
- 3 1/3 cup flour shopping list
- 1/2 teasp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 egg lightly beaten shopping list
How to make it
- cream the butter and sugar
- add the almond and 1 egg.. beat until fluffy
- add cinnamon, orange zest, and rum. beat until smooth
- in separate bowl .. stir together flour and baking powder
- add to the butter mixture and combine lightly
- wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate about a hour or until firm
- roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness
- cut out your favorite shapes...
- place cookies 1/2-inch apart on a greased baking sheet
- brush cookies with beaten egg
- bake at 350' F for about 10 minutes or until light golden in color
- cool on a wire rack
- makes about 72 cookies depending on the size and shape you cut
- store them in an airtight container
