Ingredients
  • 9 oz butter
  • 3 C packed light brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 C unsweetened cocoa pwd , mixed in 1 1/4 C hot water
  • 2 2/3 C flour , 1 1/2 tsp baking soda , 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 C cold water
  • ...........................
  • 1 C White or brown sugar
  • 1/2 C water
  • 5 egg whites
  • 2 tbsp butter

Directions
  1. Beat the butter until creamy .
  2. Add the sugar and beat until mixed .
  3. Add the eggs and essence .
  4. Add the cocoa .
  5. Now add the dry ing.
  6. Add the cold water and mix well .
  7. Pre heat oven at 180 deg C .
  8. Pour the batter in 2 - 9 inch greased pan .
  9. bake for 35 to 45 mis .
  10. Cool and frost .
  11. ...........................................
  12. Frosting and Filling :
  13. Bring the sugar and water to boil without stirring .
  14. Continue to boil until soft ball stage without stirring .
  15. Beat the egg whites .
  16. Pour in the syrup in a slow steady stream .
  17. Beat until it cools .
  18. Add the butter bit by bit .
  19. Beat well .
  20. It will separate .
  21. Continue to beat until it comes together looking like a whipped butter .
