Fava Beans Stew

- 1/4 cup of olive oil shopping list
- 2 or 3 large onions shopping list
- 2 or 3 garlic cloves shopping list
- 2 tablespoons of red pepper flake shopping list
- 1 portuguese chorizo (or other...) chopped in slices shopping list
- 1/4 cup of tomato sauce shopping list
- 2 cups hot water shopping list
- 3 or so tablespoons of parsley fresh or dried shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper shopping list
- 2 teaspoons of paprika shopping list
- 2 cans of fava beans ( large cans) or 1 Kg frozen shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil over med. heat.
- Sauté onion and garlic until brown.
- Stir in all the rest except the fava beans.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1/2 hour.
- Carefully incorporate the fava beans.
- Remove from the heat and let it sit there to let the flavors blend.
- If you use frozen fava beans, boil for 30 minutes or until cooked.
