How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl, beat shortening with brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients. Mix well.
  • Spread batter in 13-by-9-inch pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Bake 30 minutes.
  • Cool blondies in pan. Cut into bars when cool.
  • Per serving: 109 calories, 1 g protein, 16 g carb., 1 g fiber, 5 g fat (2 g sat. fat), 9 mg cholesterol, 71 mg sodium.
