Garlic Broccoli Sausage Farfalle

- 3 T olive oil shopping list
- 1 small onion, peeled & diced shopping list
- 1 med. red bell pepper, seeded & diced shopping list
- 1 LB bulk sweet Italian sausage shopping list
- 1 fist sized head of garlic, peeled and chopped shopping list
- fresh cracked pepper shopping list
- 1 C chicken stock shopping list
- 4 C fresh broccoli florets shopping list
- 1 box farfalle (bow tie pasta) shopping list
- 1.5 C shredded Parm, Romano, asiago cheese blend shopping list
How to make it
- Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil.
- Blanch broccoli for 3 minutes, remove with slotted spoon, shock in ice bath and reserve.
- Return water to boil and cook pasta. Drain pasta but do not rinse.
- In a large skillet over medium heat place olive oil, onion & ground pepper. Saute until onion is translucent (about 4 minutes).
- Add sausage to pan and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add bell pepper and garlic, saute until garlic turns golden (about 3 minutes).
- Add chicken stock and bring to a boil, top with broccoli cover and cook for 2 minutes.
- Turn heat off, do not uncover and allow to sit for about 5 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
- Toss pasta with sauce and cheese and serve.
