How to make it

  • In large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, confectioner's sugar, sweetened condensed milk, coconut, and vanilla, and chopped pecans, if desired. Mix until well blended.
  • Refrigerate until firm enough to form balls. (approximately 1 hour)
  • Roll into small balls and place on waxed-paper lined baking sheet.
  • Chill once again until firm.
  • In double-boiler, melt paraffin wax and chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  • Dip coconut balls into chocolate mixture using toothpicks and place on waxed paper to set.
  • May sprinkle additional coconut on top as garnish!
  • Refrigerate in plastic container with lid.
  • We make several layers with waxed paper to prevent sticking together.
  • These also freeze well!

Is there some way to make this coating without using parrafin? I really don't want to eat candle wax!
