Brandied Fruit Sauce Recipe
this recipe makes about 5 1/2 cups. It can be used as a sauce with baked ham or meat... you may want to make it a little sweeter and serve it with pound cake or ice cream

Ingredients
  • 2 packages (8-ounces each ) mixed dried fruits, coarsely chopped
  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/2 teasp. apple pie spice

Directions
  1. in medium saucepan, combine the fruit, apple juice and sugar
  2. stirring occasionally, cook over medium-high heat until the mixture comes to a boil
  3. reduce heat to medium-low and simmer about 30 minutes or until the fruit is tender,,stirring occasionally
  4. remove from heat, add brandy and apple pie spice
  5. serve warm with ham
  6. makes 5 & 1/2 cups
  7. ........................................................
  8. dried fruits are easier to 'chopped' by cutting them with kitchen shears
