The word halva ( halwa , halvah ) originally derived from the Arabic root halwā which means sweet , is used to describe many distinct types of sweet confection, across the Middle East , Central and South Asia .

Ingredients
  • 1 C Sago
  • 2 C Sugar
  • 1 to 2 C Ghee
  • 1 C Cashew nuts
  • Pinch of food colour

Directions
  1. Fry the sago for few mins .
  2. Grind powder.
  3. Boil 2 cups of water in a pan .
  4. Mix sago with 1 cup of water
  5. Add to the boiling water with the food colour .
  6. Stir it for few mins .
  7. Now add the sugar and continue to stir until it thickens .
  8. Pour the ghee slowly into the mixture abit by bit .
  9. Add the nuts .
  10. Cut this halva into small pieces and serve .
