The roasted, dark and sinful perfection of percolated coffee can make any morning better - especially one where you have to function. Percolated coffee is far superior to drip coffee, people often think it's old fashioned or not as good as drip brew ... More

with percolated coffee you want to either start the pot off with a tablespoon of coffee and then add one for each cup, or use a heaping spoonful for each cup without the extra at the beginning. If you like more mild coffees I would suggest starting with exactly enough for each cup, leveled off before you start subtracting - the different brew method allows for a less acidic cup.

I am a little curious how a French Press wakes you up in the morning. I mean I don't mean to be difficult but perhaps we can spar back and forth for a while to no avail. BTW, I love my french press. Caff out, toots.

Whack - if you read carefully you will see that the only mention of a french press is in the ingredients where the appropriate grind is mentioned. As indicated by the title, this is in regards to PERCOLATED coffee. Personally my morning routine consists of stumbling to the kitchen and making the coffee, as it's perking, I have been known, once or twice to stumble back to bed. The unique sound of the percolator combined the with richa and warm aromas filtering thorugh to my bedroom can rouse be back out of my delirium. The absolute key though is in the proportion - too much and it's thick, too little and it still tastes like water.

Ah, yes, on closer inspection, I see you edited everything to make it look like I don't read very carefully... ;) However, I must admit, I cannot remember the last time I measured my coffee. I pour straight from the can, no utensil shy of my finger and fill 'er up with water. My mom is like u AZ. Be curious what other people do.

A haiku reply from a tea drinker:
With all due respect
Tea steeping in hot water
Is what wakes me up!
Although Mr. Sister is a fan so will share this with him. Good recipaiku!
