How to make it

  • Preheat the broiler or prepare the grill. If broiling, line a broiler tray with foil and lightly oil the rack. If griller, lightly oil the grill rack.
  • In a small saucepan, warm the preserves, lemon juice, ginger and mustard over medium low heat, stirring until the preserves are melted and the mixture is smooth, 2-3 minutes.
  • Put the ham steaks on the prepared broiler pan or grill. Brush the top with some of the sauce.
  • Grill or broil the ham steaks 4-5 inches from heat, turning once and brushing with more sauce, until golden brown. about 10 minutes. Serve right away.
